Amampondo Backpacker Lodge is a 2 minute walk from second beach where you can stroll on the sandy beach or swim in the lagoon. Port St Johns Town is 5km or 10 minute drive on a tarred road to town. Port St Johns has Banks, ATMS, supermarkets, arts & crafts, Internet and hardware amenities.
If you are taking the Bas Bus, you need to book a shuttle from Mthata to Amampondo. Please book at reception. The local taxi service can be taken to arrive at Amampondo. It will take you to a village before the Backpackers, so no need to worry.
If you have your own vehicle:
Drive into Port St Johns town, at the first junction, opposite boxer turn left. Past the post office and liquor store and turn right, there is a sign for Amampondo Backpackers. Follow the tarred road over two speed humps. Amampondo will be on your right.
